We are looking for a software intern who has passion and energy to join Arm China Global Services – Open Source Software (OSS) Group to contribute on various open source software projects on Arm architecture.
The Arm China OSS Group has 5 teams with 45+ software engineers (continue growing) working very closely with Central Engineering – Open Source Software, Architecture Technology Group, and various Line of Business Groups inside Arm, responsible for enabling and optimizing open source software stacks on Arm architecture, and providing software solutions in the areas of (but not limited to) datacenter and cloud infrastructure, networking, edge computing, and embedded/IoT, etc. The OSS Group is working closely with Linaro, open source communities, and Arm partners to help further strengthen software ecosystem on Arm architecture.
Job Purpose & Accountabilities
As an intern of Arm China OSS Group, you will be working closely with other team members on open source software projects on Arm architecture in any of the areas below:
•        Programming language feature enabling and optimization, library optimization, tools development
•        Container and virtualization technologies
•        Cloud/big-data/storage/database software stack enabling and optimization
•        Networking data plane software and network function virtualization (NFV)
•        Embedded OS enabling and security feature development for Arm based IoT devices
As a successful candidate you will be flexible, with a variety of software development skills and a commitment to extend the breadth and depth of your knowledge.
Education & Qualifications:
Candidates pursuing Master degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or other Master degree with relevant experience, who will graduate in 2019, and be able to work in Arm China Shanghai office for at least 3 days a week.
Essential Skills & Experience
•        Experience in C/C++ and Linux programming.
•        Experience in one or more script languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, etc is a good plus.
•        Understanding of computer architecture, data structure, algorithm, and concurrent programming.
•        Experience with distributed version control systems, such as Git.
•        Quick learner, good problem-solving skills.
•        Fluent in English. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
•        Good team player, flexible, willing to take challenges.
Desirable Skills & Experience
•        Familiar with open source project development cycles and contribution process.
•        Experience in software development and optimization on Arm architecture and SoC.
